Where to check & pay in Dubai
- Check: RTA website or RTA Dubai app (traffic file number, plate number or Emirates ID), or the Dubai Police website/app.
- Salik fines: the Salik app or salik.ae.
- Pay: RTA website/app, Dubai Police, Emirates Vehicle Gate, or an RTA Smart Kiosk — by Visa or Mastercard.
Dubai Police often gives a 35% discount if you pay within 60 days of the violation, and large fines (over AED 5,000 for individuals) may be payable in interest-free instalments.
Abu Dhabi — check & pay
Where to check & pay in Abu Dhabi
- Check: the TAMM Abu Dhabi portal/app, the Abu Dhabi Police e-services site, or the MOI UAE app — using Emirates ID, plate number or traffic file number.
- Pay: Abu Dhabi Police digital services, MOI, or authorised kiosks, by card.
Abu Dhabi vehicle registration is valid one year with a 30-day grace period after expiry — but clear fines first, they block renewal. Note Abu Dhabi has no speed grace margin: the radar is set exactly to the posted limit.
Sharjah — check & pay

- Check: the Sharjah Police website/app, the SRTA portal (srta.gov.ae), Emirates Vehicle Gate (evg.ae), or the MOI app — by plate number, plate code and emirate, or traffic file number.
- Pay: Sharjah Police, EVG, MOI or a Sahl device, by card.
Sharjah Police offers up to 35% off if paid within 60 days, and 25% off if paid after 60 days but within a year — no discount after a year. Unpaid fines block your Mulkiya renewal.

The registration grace period (all three emirates)
Across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, vehicle registration is valid one year with a 30-day grace period after expiry to renew without a late fine. In Dubai, after the grace period a late-renewal fee of about AED 25 per month applies. This is separate from — and far smaller than — the penalty for actually driving on expired registration (around AED 500, four black points and possible impounding).
