A quick checklist so your renewal goes through first time.
To renew your car registration in Dubai you need a valid Emirates ID, valid UAE car insurance covering the new period, your current mulkiya, a passed RTA inspection if the car is over three years old, and all traffic fines cleared. Miss one and the renewal won’t complete.
Your insurance must be active and cover the full renewal period. Renewal won’t process without it, so sorting insurance first saves a wasted trip.
New cars are exempt for the first years, but once a car is over three years old it needs to pass the RTA technical inspection each year before renewal.
All traffic fines on the vehicle must be paid before renewal. Check early so nothing blocks you on the day.
